SPA (Istanbul)

I've tried out numerous spas in Istanbul, but was never really satisfied with the results I obtained until I walked into the Istanbul Edition hotel. You know when you just find that perfect place and your mind is set on it. Well that is what happened to me. After a hectic day I really needed a massage, so I called up the hotel and booked an appointment. I must say I never expected it to be that great. They have a specialist from Bali, who gives the most amazing massages. From Swedish massages, hot stone, body contour, you name it! This spa has it. To add on, a few days ago I decided to get a facial, before getting the facial, the beauticianist analysis your skin with this special machine that detects any problem you have so she knows what products are more suitable for your skin. Very professional I must say.  The room was very calming and as she treats your face she gives you a head massage, which literally almost put me to sleep. The lady was so delicate with my skin, that I did not feel any pain. Which is rare for me, since most of the places I go to, I experience some sort discomfort.

I will go back for another treatment sometime soon!  I have heard that they have the best manicure and pedicure treatment, that is done by a french man, who is an expert at his job. Something to consider trying out next time I am there.

For those of you who are curious, the products they use are ESPA, and you may purchase any product that you desire from the hotel. I purchased their face mask and I am hoping it will leave me with great results.

La Boom!

A couple of days ago I went to a newly opened restaurant called La Boom in Istanbul. The restaurant is owned by two friends who live in New York. This is a perfect place for those of you who want a different scenery. The restaurant has a "bagatelle" concept which is what makes it unique and more alive. The menu consists of variety of dishes, from Turkish cuisine to Italian. I highly recommend the "Manti" as a starter, which is a Turkish stuffing with meat or the beef carpaccio. As for the main course I either recommend the rigatoni with shrimps or the jumbo shrimps.

The More Layers, The Better!

I remember back in the 90's when the skirts over pants were a big hit. I actually even remembering owning a pair of pants that already had a skirt attached to it. Guess what? This coming season it's all about that yet again. As seen from the Prada, Louis Vuitton and the Marc Jacobs collection they clearly transformed the look from hipster to more classiness. I think this look definitely takes guts to pull off and you need to be extremely careful at the way you layer your outfit, not to come out looking as if you've worn your whole closet.

Here are some looks:

Who can pull off this look better then the layering expert herself ? Here she is the one and only Leandra Medine from the Man Repeller.

I am sure most of you have these moments, where you go into a shop and find something pretty unique and immediately buy it, only till it gets shoved somewhere at the end of your closet and you completely forget about it. This is precisly what happend to me. I bought this Missoni pants/skirt a couple of months ago and while I was organizing my closet a couple of weeks ago, I found it and deicded it was about time I wore it.

70's pop art

For those of you who are into pop art, guess what? Now u can finally get to wear it! I purchased a philip lim sweater a few days ago from their new collection . This season their collection feels very contemporary, I am absolutely loving it. I also came across some of their clutches and they looked great. Very unique and it sure does make a statement! Pair it with simple jeans and a top or a plain dress and your all set! It's crazy how a simple piece of accessory can change the whole look of your outfit. I am still hesitating on weather I should buy the clutch or not, since it is not particularly my style.

Prada Creepers

As most of you have realized, a lot of the trends have been all about the tomboy look with a feminine touch to it. The other day I went into Prada and while looking at their shoes, I came across their creepers. I tried it on, and was somehow convinced on purchasing them, only to have my mother stop me, and to tell me how extremely bulky and masculine they looked. What do you ladies think? Are you loving this trend? Or just like my mother, your absolutely hating it? Maybe I'll just have to get them when my mother is not around...

Pyjama party

Ever wake up in the morning and have trouble finding what to wear? Those hour spent browsing through your closet and throwing all your clothes all over the place, only to feel like you have absolutely nothing to wear (when in fact your closet is packed with so many clothes)..haha worry not! now you can wear your pyjamas to work, school, lunch or wherever! yep you heard correct! Save time and look stylish! This trend was a huge hit this spring! it's still not too late for you to be able to capture it!

Lace it up

I can never get sick of lace! I feel that a person can wear lace for almost every occasion, and you can't go wrong with it. It's sexy yet elegant at the same time and may i add how feminine it is. It's a type of look that will definitely make you stand out of the crowd, especially if you are wearing colorful lace. A couple of months ago I was going through my mother's closet and discovered some amazing vintage lace dresses she had. So in my opinion I think every girl should own at least one lace dress because it's a piece that seems to be a "classic" and will never go out of style.

Here are some of my favorite lace dresses. All available on www.net-a-porter.com

Headpiece

I've always been very into headpieces. I feel that it can compliment an outfit, or simply add that special "touch" that seems to be missing sometimes. Of course not everyone can pull off this look. To add on, depending on the structure of your face would depend on the headpiece you choose. I recommend this look mostly for those of you who have an oval structured face. As for those who have a smaller face; I suggest you try to avoid the very bulky ones.

However an exception would be if you were Miroslava Duma. Is there anything this girl can't pull off?

Valentino Sold!

After several rumors speculating about this label being sold, the company finally admitted that it was in fact sold to an investment group from Qatar.

Valentino has always been a prestigious brand, and has been doing so well in these recent years. I really wonder how things will turn out for them with their new owners.

The Royal Color

What symbolizes autumn better then shades of purple? Thankfully, next season is all about purple!  Please ladies, do not let the fact that the temperature will drop bring your mood down; which may lead some of you to say goodbye to all your colorful wardrobes, and take out the typical "black" or "grey" clothes. Instead, why not add some purple to those boring colors? It is the perfect color for those of you who are less daring and do not want to seem too flashy.

AZZEDINE ALAIA

One of my favorite brands, weather it comes to dresses, belts or shoes. This designer knows it all! Even the simplest dresses look amazing once worn and are extremely femenine. To add on, the special detailing makes it unique. You can pair a plain outfit with an Alaia belt or shoes and I am pretty sure you'd make a statement.
For those of you lucky enough to live in Paris, Azzedine Alaia is going to open his first boutique since 1992 next March. How exciting!

You can find some of his dresses, shoes and belts on: www.polyvore.com
For Shoes, belts and bags on: www.net-a-porter.com

FYI Azzedine Alaia is originally Tunisian, I guess his oriental side plays a role towards his inspiration and talent.
