7 Interesting facts about cosmetics

I am back home now for a little while, so it is time for me to relax and catch up on my sleep! During my time here I really love going to spas and tanning. I was googling some spas and came stumbled upon a blog that contain something very interesting facts about make up so I just had to share:

1) You like shimmer on your lips and nails?

Well did you know that they originally come from fish scales. It is also found in a lot of fragrances, hair and skin products.



2)Can't decide between clinique, bobbie brown or Mac?

Well worry not, all three are owned by Estee lauder

3) Were you ever curious to where nail polish came from?



The Chinese! They invented it from egg whites, beeswax, gum and coloured powder!

4) Ancient Egyptians had amazingly soft skin. How?



They used to apply swan fat, thinking that it would make their skin softer, which clearly worked.

5) During the medieval times, the paler you were the prettier you were considered. How did they maintain their paleness?

Many women would fake their paleness by using leeches or slashing one of their veins and draining the blood! (What women would do for beauty!!!)

6) Curious to who own half the make up industry?



L'oreal! The Swiss brand Nestle owns 1/4 of the L'oreal make up industry

7) Did you know that eye liner, mascara and eyebrow pencils were made from coal in the past until they realized that it caused blindness!
